Easter 2018

Preparations of a holiday is often just as fun, if not more fun, than the holiday itself.
Easter is no exception.
This past week has found us dying dozens of eggs.
Making multiple banners/art work to decorate our walls.  (also notice the Easter haircuts that everyone received?  Mama had one busy afternoon with her clipping shears but everyone looked good in the end.)
We made our empty tomb cake for the second year in a row.  Always fun and we learned it is going to come out a little different each year.
And then Easter morning itself where we were able to wake up rejoicing in the new life that God has given us when Jesus defeated death.
Celebrating with our church family was fun but then this mama needed a nap!!  After the kids could wake me, we went out for our egg hunt.  A cruel April fool's joke was the promise of spring.  It snowed 4" of fresh powder on Saturday night/Sunday morning.  So the eggs just sunk right into the snow.
But these mini jelly beans were good motivators and the kids had fun running around finding all their egg treasures.
A day to celebrate indeed!
