Happy Birthday Ethan Hamilton

On Saturday our little Ethan turned 6 years old.  What a wonderful day he had.
It all started with him coming to breakfast in his three piece suit.  Oh how I love his little mind.  We celebrated with mickey pancakes, orange julius and fruit.
The morning was yard clean up and preparations but the long awaited party was set for the afternoon.  With his sisters and little friends with him, we played all the games he loves.  Activity one - shooting nerf guns at empty soda cans.
Next came destruction.  Our friend Jessica was the best help in bringing a big box of computer keyboards over.  We set the kids to it with safety glasses, hammers, screw drivers and crow bars.  It was a little kids dream.  How much fun they had making the plastic pieces fly.
Ethan's cake request was an ice cream cake with strawberry and cookies n' cream ice cream, frosted in blue whip cream frosting and then decorated with a dragon made out of strawberries.  I managed the cake, Josh came in and saved the day by laying the strawberries out in the shape of a perfect dragon.  Ethan was very pleased indeed.  His requested side dishes - strawberries, blueberries, garden carrots and cheetos.  What a fun kid he is.
We love to have pinatas at parties.  They are fun to make, fun to hit and a great way to send our friends home with a toy.  I made this one in the shape of a balloon and gave Josh the idea of making it into a dragon egg.  He is so amazing with anything he paints and the kids were so excited to break the "egg" open and see the toys inside.
Birthdays bring so much joy, excitement and fun.  How thankful I am for Ethan and the love and energy he brings to our family.
