We have been studying Peru for the past month in geography class. I love how what we are learning takes weeks, involves reading, cooking, art, games and more. It is a really well rounded lesson in a country before moving on to the next.
Well, this month we all learned that there are Nazca Lines in the Nazca Desert. Huge designs in the dirt that are so enormous that they can only completely be seen from the sky. Yet these designs were made around 2,000 years ago. Amazing!!
To help us remember this cool Peruvian fact, we made our own out of paint, glue and sand. Talk about messy activity. Wishing we had had this art class outside before snowy days. Oh well, all of the sandbox sand was eventually vacuumed up. Learning to travel the world without even putting on our coats!
